Coloured contact lenses as a replacement for prescription lenses – options and limitations

Are you wondering whether it is possible to use coloured contact lenses as a full replacement for standard prescription lenses? There is now a wide range of coloured lenses with prescription powers available on the market, which can be an attractive alternative for those who wish to change or enhance their eye colour. In this article, we will explore the options and limitations that come with wearing coloured contact lenses.

What are the options?

Coloured contact lenses are available in both non-prescription and prescription versions, which means that in addition to an aesthetic effect they can also correct your vision. The quality contact lenses we offer in our e-shop www.top-crazy.cz include a wide selection of prescription coloured contact lenses from leading manufacturers, ensuring comfortable wear while meeting your aesthetic and health needs.

Limitations of coloured lenses

When choosing coloured lenses as a replacement for classic prescription lenses, several factors need to be considered. Coloured lenses may have slightly lower oxygen permeability due to the tinting of the material, which can affect how long they can be worn. It is therefore recommended to follow the instructions for use and not exceed the recommended wearing time.

Another aspect is the range of available prescription powers, which may not be as wide as with standard lenses. Users with higher prescriptions or specific needs, such as astigmatism, may have a limited choice.

Safety and care

Safety comes first, both when wearing standard and coloured contact lenses. It is important that lenses are applied, cleaned and stored correctly according to the instructions to avoid the risk of infection or eye damage. Visit our website to get information on proper contact lens care.
