Our Story

The company Gaudete takes its name from the Latin expression gaudete, meaning joy, cheerfulness, or encouragement. These very values stood at the company’s beginnings in 2009 and continue to shape its approach to products, customers, and beauty itself to this day.

The company’s original focus was the wholesale distribution of the Horien brand in the Czech Republic, complemented by the retail sale of classic contact lenses and later also coloured contact lenses.

Since 2011, we have been an authorised distributor of the Korean cosmetics brand Skin79. Over time, we have expanded our portfolio to include additional Korean cosmetics, and since 2023 we have also been offering Japanese cosmetics.

Thanks to many years of experience and careful product selection, Gaudete brings together aesthetics, functionality, and safety.

Since 2009, the company has been the owner of the Horien trademark in the Czech Republic relating to contact lenses, solutions, drops, and lens care cases.

Since 2023, the company has been the owner of the EU-wide Lucifer trademark relating to contact lenses.
